DTF printing is a digital method of making transfers in which a printing plotter is used as a printer and a polyester film as a support. As with any textile transfer, after printing the ink on paper or film, and while the ink is still wet, a thermo adhesive polyamide or polyurethane powder is applied that adheres to the newly printed ink. This powder will fuse with the ink as it passes through a high temperature heat oven for a controlled time, acting as a “glue” to bond the ink or design to the fabric.
